JOAN MIRÓ’S EMOTIONAL LANDSCAPES IN THE CAMP OF TARRAGONA
For long years we had desired to visit Mas Miró, a country house just outside the village of Montroig. This rural property was owned by Joan Miró’s family since the time he was a dreamy teenager. It was in this very place that he decided to become a painter.
With time, this house and the surrounding outdoor spaces became the focal center of Miró’s growing artistic inspiration. The artist said of himself “I work like a gardener”, an expression that also seems a crucial declaration of intentions. Every summer he felt the need to tread the red earth of Montroig and renew his creativity by being in constant contact with nature. Long walks resulted into new ideas and new ideas meant many hours of artistic research.
Such an important space of creation is open since 2018 to all those who to want to learn more about the life and work of Miró.
