If you want to combine art appreciation with some of the best views of the city, there’s only one place in town: Montjuïc.
The Olympic hill houses some of the city’s most stunning viewpoints, as well as well-tended gardens, sports halls, and the Catalonian National Museum of Art (MNAC).
We will enjoy a pleasant stroll around the museum terrace, taking in the panoramic views of the city as we cast our eyes from Tibidabo, a mountain which stands like a watchful guardian over the city, down to the Mediterranean Sea, and across to the 1992 Olympic Ring and the 1929 World Expo buildings.
We will then tour the museum’s impressive collection of Romanesque Art, before continuing to the splendid Miró Foundation.
Learn about the life of Catalan artist Joan Miró, or just sit back and let yourself be captivated by the dreamscapes and imaginative sculptures exhibited in the rationalist building designed by Harvard Professor Josep Lluís Sert.
